Hotel La Palma is one of those Lake Maggiore venues that offers a wonderful variety of settings without needing to travel far on the wedding day.
Located right on the Stresa lakefront, it combines elegant interiors, open views across the lake and a contemporary atmosphere that works beautifully for both candid moments and more refined portraits.
Its location also makes it an excellent base for couples planning a wedding on Lake Maggiore.
Having photographed at Hotel La Palma, I particularly appreciate how many different possibilities it offers within a very small area.
The rooftop and Sky Bar provide spectacular views over Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands, while the private beach and waterfront create a completely different, more relaxed setting for couple portraits.
From a photographer's perspective, this variety is particularly valuable.
We can move naturally from the preparations and celebrations inside the hotel to the lakefront, the beach or the rooftop, adapting to the light and the rhythm of the day rather than spending precious time travelling between locations.
My approach at Hotel La Palma is to make the most of these surroundings without allowing the photography to take over the wedding itself.
I combine documentary photography with a subtle editorial touch, capturing the spontaneous moments as they happen while also creating a small number of elegant portraits that reflect the atmosphere of Stresa and Lake Maggiore.

Just across from the hotel, Hotel La Palma also offers a private lakeside area with a swimming pool, creating a more relaxed atmosphere away from the main hotel spaces.
t is a wonderful place for you and your guests to unwind by the water, enjoy cocktails at the bar and take in the views of Lake Maggiore.
The area also includes a dedicated nightclub and entertainment space, giving you the possibility to continue the celebrations into the evening.
From a photography perspective, having the pool, lakefront, bar and evening spaces so close to the hotel also gives us even more variety without having to leave the venue.

One of the greatest advantages of Hotel La Palma is its location.
You are in the heart of Stresa, directly opposite Lake Maggiore, with the Borromean Islands forming a beautiful natural backdrop.
For couples planning a destination wedding, having so much available in and around the hotel can also make the day considerably easier.
Preparations, celebrations and photographs can take place close together, allowing you to spend more time with your guests rather than building the wedding schedule around transfers.
The surroundings also give us plenty of flexibility for photography.
Depending on the light and the timing of the day, we can use the elegant spaces of the hotel, step outside for photographs along the Stresa waterfront, head to the private beach, or take advantage of the panoramic rooftop as the light begins to soften towards sunset.
And if you would like to include more of Lake Maggiore in your wedding experience, Stresa is also an ideal starting point for a short private boat trip around the Borromean Islands.
It can be a beautiful opportunity to create a completely different series of photographs on the water while also giving you a quiet moment together away from the celebrations.
For me, this combination of location, variety and simplicity is what makes Hotel La Palma particularly interesting for a wedding: Lake Maggiore is always present in the story of the day, without the photography needing to feel staged or complicated.

Sky Bar / rooftop
Located on the seventh and top floor of Hotel La Palma, the Sky Bar offers panoramic views over Lake Maggiore and the surrounding mountains.
With its open-air setting, relaxed atmosphere and beautiful sunset light, it is one of my favourite spots for elegant wedding portraits or simply enjoying a cocktail together as the evening begins.

Lake views
Lake Maggiore is always part of the scenery at Hotel La Palma.
Pool area and private beach
Just across from the hotel, the private lakeside pool offers a completely different atmosphere: contemporary, relaxed and perfect for more spontaneous photographs.
The pool, lounge areas and cocktail bar also provide a great setting for capturing guests enjoying the celebration.
It is particularly beautiful later in the day, when the light becomes softer and the lake takes on warmer tones.

Stresa waterfront
One of the advantages of Hotel La Palma is its position directly on the Stresa lakefront.
A short walk is enough to find elegant promenades, gardens and open views of Lake Maggiore, giving us plenty of photographic variety without taking you away from your guests for too long.
Golden hour on Lake Maggiore
The hour before sunset can completely transform the atmosphere around the hotel.
Softer light, reflections on the lake and the colours of the surrounding mountains make this one of my favourite moments for a short portrait session, natural, relaxed and never taking too much time away from your celebration.

My approach to wedding photography at Hotel La Palma is a blend of documentary storytelling and refined editorial photography.
For most of the day, I prefer to observe rather than direct, capturing genuine emotions, spontaneous interactions and all those small moments that make every wedding different.
When the setting and light are right, I also love creating a few more intentional portraits, making the most of the rooftop, the lakefront and the beautiful scenery around Stresa.
These sessions are always relaxed and kept short, so you can enjoy the experience without feeling that your wedding day has turned into a photoshoot.
The result is a collection of photographs that feels natural and personal, while still having the elegance and visual impact you would expect from a wedding on Lake Maggiore.
