WEDDING IN KILKENNY
Having photographed weddings at Langtons Hotel, I particularly appreciate the variety it offers throughout a wedding day.
Preparations, ceremony, reception and evening celebrations can all take place within the venue, while its central Kilkenny location makes it easy to step outside for a short portrait session around the city.
My approach is primarily documentary, allowing the day to unfold naturally while using the different spaces at Langtons for a small number of more refined portraits.

What Is a Wedding at Langtons Hotel Like?
Langtons is one of several amazing venues in Kilkenny.
From a photographer’s perspective, one of the advantages of a wedding at Langtons Hotel is how naturally the different parts of the day can flow together.
Preparations, ceremony, reception and evening celebrations can all take place at the venue, making it easy to document the day without unnecessary travel or interruptions.
Its central Kilkenny location is another real advantage.
When the timeline allows, couples can step outside for a short portrait session around the city, using places such as Kilkenny Castle, John’s Bridge and the surrounding historic streets before returning to their guests.
Inside Langtons, the variety of spaces also gives each stage of the wedding its own atmosphere. For me, this makes it possible to create a varied photographic story while keeping the experience relaxed and allowing the couple to spend as much time as possible enjoying their celebration.

The photographs below are from Jennifer and Robert’s wedding at Langtons Hotel, a celebration that gave me the opportunity to document both the venue and the character of Kilkenny itself.
Their day began with preparations at Langtons, followed by the wedding ceremony and celebrations at the hotel.
We also took a short walk through Kilkenny for some relaxed couple portraits, using the historic streets and some of the city’s most recognisable locations as a backdrop.
What I particularly like about photographing a wedding here is this combination: the atmosphere and convenience of having the main parts of the day at Langtons, while the centre of Kilkenny is just outside the door.
