Starting the day in Laveno on Lake Maggiore
We met in Laveno early in the morning, when the lake was still calm and quiet.
Before boarding the boat, we stopped for a simple coffee by the water... a small, grounding moment before the day truly began.
There is something special about this part of Lake Maggiore: it feels local, authentic, and untouched by the rush of tourism that you often find elsewhere.
Shortly after 9 AM, the private boat and skipper arrived.
From that moment, the elopement officially started.
We set off across the lake, beginning a slow journey through some of the most beautiful locations of the Borromean Islands.
Isola Bella, vows among gardens and history
Our first stop was Isola Bella, one of the most iconic locations on Lake Maggiore.
The boat approached the island slowly, revealing the baroque palace and terraced gardens rising directly from the water.
It is a place that feels almost theatrical, yet still deeply romantic when experienced in the right way.
We spent about an hour on the island, walking through the gardens and exploring different corners in a very relaxed way.
I always work discreetly during moments like this, observing, guiding gently when needed, and allowing space for everything to feel natural.
At one of the quietest and most scenic spots on the island, the couple exchanged their vows.
No audience, no distractions, just the sound of the gardens, the lake below, and a deeply personal moment between them.

Champagne on the lake, celebrating between the islands
After leaving Isola Bella, we returned to the boat waiting at the dock and continued the journey across the lake.
This part of the day always feels like pure freedom.
Surrounded by mountains and open water, the couple opened a bottle of champagne and celebrated together on the boat.
The light, the movement of the water, and the slow rhythm of the boat created a cinematic atmosphere that cannot be staged.

Narrow alleys, small houses, and lakeside views create an atmosphere that is intimate and full of character.
The couple absolutely loved it.
We walked slowly through the island, stopping wherever light and atmosphere felt right. There was no rush, just curiosity and presence.

Later in the day, we continued toward Isola Madre, the largest of the Borromean Islands.

Its botanical gardens and historic villa create a calm, almost dreamlike atmosphere.
We explored the entire island, including the gardens and palace interiors, taking our time between different scenes and light conditions.
This is where some of the most elegant portraits of the day were created, surrounded by greenery, still water, and soft natural light.
Isola Madre is often overlooked, but for a Lake Maggiore elopement it adds depth and balance to the entire experience.
Returning to Laveno and the end of the journey
In the early afternoon, around 2 PM, the boat brought us back to Laveno.
The lake had changed light completely compared to the morning, softer, warmer, more reflective.
At the harbour, we took a final photograph together.
A simple moment to close the experience, but one that captures everything about the day: connection, trust, and shared experience.
And just like that, the elopement quietly came to an end.
